The East Carbon County Democratic Club will meet next Tuesday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Penn Kidder School campus, located on route 903 just past the intersection of Routes 534 and 903.

This meeting will focus on acquainting registered Democrats of Penn Forest Township with their county's elected officials and other candidates who are on theballot in May's Primary Election.

The following Carbon County candidates are scheduled to appear: Gary Dobias, district attorney; Dwight Nothstein, sheriff; Charles Getz, commissioner; William O'Gurek, commissioner; Emmett McCall, recorder of deeds; Jo Ann Behrens, prothonotary; Bruce Nalesnik, coroner; Robert Crampsie, controller; Christine Fazio, a candidate for Penn Forest Township Supervisor; and Ellen Kattner, Jim Thorpe Area school director.

At the meeting to be held April 19, scheduled guest candidates are: attorneys Joseph J. Matika and Jim Lavelle. Both are cross-filed candidates for Carbon County Judge. District Justice Edward Lewis will also address members of the club.

These meetings present the opportunity for the voters of Penn Forest Township to learn about those who wish to represent them in county government and local municipal office. All registered Democrats of East Carbon County are welcome to join the club.
