The American Red Cross of Monroe County is hosting an emergency preparedness safety fair for youths from 5 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 30, at the Eastern Monroe Public Library, 1002 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg. The event is sponsored by the Carbon-Monroe-Pike MHMR disaster crisis outreach and referral team.
The fair is open to all children ages 9 through 12 who are in fourth through sixth grades. They must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are also welcome.
During the fair, children will go through a home alone program, which helps them gain the tools and information needed to better prepare them to handle emergencies. Red Cross disaster stations will also be set up for the children to visit. Pizza will be served.
All children who attend will be given a free Red Cross lantern.
