Jim Thorpe man receives PANA clinical instructor award

Michael Hartman has recently been notified that he has been selected among nurse anesthetists in all of Pennsylvania to receive the 2011 Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists' Clinical Instructor of the Year award, to be presented in Hershey.

Dr. Hartman received his doctorate of nursing practice from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. He began his nursing career at Lehigh Carbon Community College. He then entered DeSales University, where he dual majored and obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing and bachelor's of arts degree in psychology.Next, he attended LaSalle University, where he obtained a master's degree in nursing, before obtaining his doctorate of nursing practice.He has written and published numerous anesthesia journal articles and has presented at many anesthesia conferences.He currently practices anesthesia and is employed by Lehigh Valley Anesthesia Services.He is active in his community as a current Jim Thorpe Area School Board director. He resides in Jim Thorpe with his wife, Erin, and children, Tyler and Sarah.
