An appeal was filed in the Schuylkill County court by the Coaldale Community Ambulance Association from the ruling by the Schuylkill County Assessment Appeals Board which removed the ambulance group exemption on its headquarters building at 300 W. Ridge St.

The appeals board also imposed a tax base on the property, ruling the fair market value was $93,680 and assessed it for tax purposes at $46,840.The ambulance association are asking the court to either restore the tax exemption on the property or re-evaluate the market value to a lower status because it believes the assessment appeals board erred in its decision in removing the exemption on the building which is used to serve the community and area with services.Also the market value it imposed on the building was excessive.
