Around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, firefighters from Lansford, Summit Hill, Tamaqua and Coaldale were called to a structure fire on the Lansford firefighter's training grounds near the intersections of East Dock Street and East Front Street. When firefighters arrived they noticed fire and smoke emanating from one of the buildings, which was used to store block party and other miscellaneous supplies. Outside fire companies were canceled while Lansford firefighters stayed and extinguished the fire. No one was hurt. Fire police and Lansford ambulance also responded. Officials ruled the fire as suspicious.
