SHHS Class of '51
Members of the Class of 1951 of the former Summit Hill High School will hold their 60-year reunion on Saturday, June 26, at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. Class members are reminded replies are due by June 6. For more information, contact class member Mary Scapanda, (570) 645-5816.
SHCIO to meet
The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will be held on Monday, June 6, at 7 p.m. in the Summit Hill Borough Hall. Debra Ranck, president, will be in charge of the session.
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will recognize graduates from the parish at the weekend Masses on Saturday and Sunday, June 18-19.
The students and their parents are also invited to be guests of the parish at the monthly breakfast to be held on Sunday, June 19.
Graduates and/or their parents are asked to notify the parish of the graduate by submitting on an index card the members of your family who are graduating. The information should indicate the name, their relationship to you, your name, what grade and high school they are graduating from, where they might be going – college, graduate school, workforce, etc.
Special recognition will be given to four senior servers/sacristans who will be graduating, including Katelyn Collevechio, Laura Cinicola, Rachel Krajcirik and Michael Heffelfinger.
Two infants were baptized into the Catholic faith on Sunday, May 29, at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church.
Receiving the sacrament were Zoe Rae, infant daughter of Cassandra Hussey and William J. Johnstone Jr.; and Chase Joseph, infant son of Christopher and Jessica (Matula) Kerestes.
The Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Youth Organization girls' volleyball team is in need of a coach for the 2011-2012 school year. Persons interested in the volunteer position can contact CYO President Tim Hoben, (570) 645-3423.
