Two vehicles were damaged in a driveway-highway collision on July 27 at 12:13 p.m. in Polk Township.
State police at the Lehighton barracks said the accident happened when Emily M. Steffen, 23, of Nattleborough, Mass., driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, was turning out of a private driveway to travel east on Whitey B Drive, and turned into the path of a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado operated by Robert A. Derco, 22, of Brodheadsville. The latter was westbound on Whitey B Drive and was unable to stop in time. His vehicle was struck in the left front by the Elantra.
Police said Steffen sustained minor injuries that required an EMS transport. She will be cited for her vehicle entering or crossing a roadway without yielding to oncoming traffic.
