A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the liquor code.

Gemstar Enterprises Inc., trading as Rubys Saloon, 298 Bridge St., Lehighton, was cited for used, or permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard outside.

The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.

In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
