The descendants of Weaver John Fretz and his brother, Christian, will gather at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at St. Matthew's Kellers Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, Pa., to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of the first Fretz family reunion. The family arrived in Bucks County from Germany in the 1720s and has spread to many states in the U.S. and Ontario.
Names such as Albright, Alderfer, Benner, Bishop, Clemmer, Derstine, Detweiler, Fly, Hockman, Kindig, Landis, Meyers, Moyers, Nyce, Pritchard, Rush, Steeley, Wismer and Yoder are among the many affiliated with the family throughout the genealogy books.
Family and friends are welcome to bring a kitchen or shop apron for show and tell. Lunch will be a covered dish with meat, rolls and beverage provided. The afternoon program will feature Jim Diamond, whose topic will be animal bells from around the world.
