The Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation will present a community-wide art event, the second annual Painting Marathon, for artists and anyone with the desire to try painting at the end of the month.
The event will take place at the foundation's gallery, located at 20 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe.
Artists ages 10 and up are eligible to participate and will create work most of the time between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 30.

Materials 12-inch by 12-inch wooden surfaces, paint and brushes will be provided, or artists may bring their own materials.
At 4 p.m., foundation director Anita Shapolsky will judge the artwork created and award four prizes in two categories: Adults, 18 and over – Most Original and Best of Show; Youth, 10-17 – Most Original and Best of Show.
