Board of Health

The July meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health was held at the municipal building with Randolph Gormley, James Gormley, Earl Boettger, Shirley Becker and Health Officer Judith Hadesty R.N. in attendance.

The board received a monthly report from Health Enforcement Officer James Barron, who reported making a general inspection at the South Ward Playground. Barron also reportedly made spot check inspections at Sisters Cantina, Our Family Mini Mart, Hess Express, Schick's Cafe, BPO Elks Lodge 592 and Fegley's Mini Mart. He received and adjusted nine complaints: five for rubbish/garbage; two infestations; one strong odor; and one building unfit for human habitation.

There were no cases of reportable diseases during June.

The board meets the first Tuesday of each month, at 11:30 a.m., in the Tamaqua Municipal Building.
