A Lansford driver is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident in Nesquehoning over the holiday weekend.
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Mill St. for an accident at the railroad tracks. Upon arrival officers Brian White and Tom Kurtz found Edward Butterworth, of 206 W. Water St., as the driver. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Butterworth. Also seized from the vehicle was suspected marijuana. Butterworth was taken for a blood test.
The DUI and drug charges are pending, police said.
