Jim Thorpe police are seeking information relative to an assault of two males on July 2 at the fireworks festival that was held at Memorial Park in observance of the 4th of July holiday.

Police said the assault happened at 9:41 p.m. in the parking lot area of the park when a white male with short hair and tattoos on both forearms used crass knuckles to assault the two males. The assailant was wearing shorts with a white tank top and was last seen leaving the area in a cherry red Hyundai Tiburon that had a spoiler on the rear of the vehicle. Police said the first three letters of the license plate on the vehicle could possibly be HMR.Police are asking anyone who witnessed the assault or having information about a vehicle possibly matching the description to contact them at (570) 325-4995.
