A thunderous fireworks display capped off Jim Thorpe's annual Stay-At-Home Festival on Saturday night, and made for a fitting lead-in to Independence Day for not only community residents but for many weekend visitors to the area.
The weekend kicked off Friday evening at Memorial Park with display of classic cars by the Juke Box Cruisers car club of Jim Thorpe along with live music, food, and refreshments.
On Saturday, a full agenda of children's events in the morning made for a fun-filled day for children and parents alike.
Throughout the day, there was live musical entertainment in the park and for the children, there were rides, games, and Buster the Clown.
Among the groups providing a wide variety of food and refreshments were St. Joseph Church; Boy Scout Troop 555; and the Germantown Grove Club.
Saturday evening's fireworks were sponsored by Mauch Chunk Trust Company, and the day long entertainment was sponsored by the Jim Thorpe National Bank.
