Two sisters from Brooklyn, N.Y., who police said were involved in a fight at the Garden Inn Motel, Mt. Pocono, were cited by Pocono Mountain Regional Polilce.

The incident happened at 1:10 a.m. June 28.

Police said they were dispatched when it was believed a female was being assaulted in a motel room. They learned that sisters Kelly M. Harrison, 22, and Veronica Harrison, 18, were both intoxicated and had gotten into a physical altercation.

Kelly Harrison was arrested for simple assault and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facililty, Snydersville, while Veronica Harrison was cited for harassment and underage drinking. Veronica was also transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of injuries she received in the altercation.

Police also reported they arrested Darnell Moment, 21, of Tobyhanna, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after responding to the motel.

While there for the fight between the Harrison sisters, police observed Moment leaving the motel room and enter his vehicle. After talking with him, police detected an odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle. A search revealed a small amount of marijuana, a digital scale and dime bags used for the drug, resulting in the man's arrest.
