State police at the Fogelsville barracks conducted a speed enforcement operation along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, on Monday, Jan. 17.
Troopers used a fixed wing aircraft to observe and clock vehicles. A total of 13 vehicles and one commercial truck were clocked resulting in 12 traffic citations for speeding and other violations. Four written warnings were issued.
The vehicle with the highest speed was 82 miles-per-hour. The operation was conducted between 9:30 and 11 a.m.
Troopers said such a speed enforcement operation will continue periodically on I78 in an effort to target aggressive drivers and reduce accidents.
