Cleanup is occurring from what was described as the worst blaze in recent history in Tamaqua, yesterday. The blaze started shortly before 7 a.m. at the Wood Brothers candy manufacturing plant at 23 Mauch Chunk Street, and raged out of control for over three hours. At least six other dwellings were destroyed and nearly 30 people were made homeless. Among the other builidngs were those occupied by Knights of Columbus and James' Cafe.
