Students at St. Jerome Regional School, Tamaqua, received awards at the Diocese of Allentown Celebration of the Arts on Jan. 29 at Bethlehem Catholic High School. 51 elementary and special learning center students in the Diocese received Ewey Awards for their artistic originality and creativity. Anna Zelinsky (Kindergarten), Kennedy Young (grade 2) and Sophia Susarchick (grade 5) were winners in their grade levels for their artistic depiction of Catholic schools in 2061. The Diocese of Allentown celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and the contest focused on the students ideas about Catholic schools in another 50 years.
