A Monroe County man was jailed on Friday, Jan. 1, following a domestic incident.

State police at Fern Ridge said Wayne Morton was charged with simple assault for allegedly striking a 22-year-old female with a closed fist in the face at 68 Long View Drive, in Reeders, Jackson Township, about 3:37 a.m. He was taken into custody and housed in the county prison in Snydersville, troopers said.
