Blue Mountain Health System's Palmerton campus hosts Santa Claus

All was quite, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

Then in walked Santa Claus to spread his holiday cheer, much to their delight.Dressed in his usual red and white garb, Santa recently visited 17 patients at Blue Mountain Health System's Palmerton campus. Each patient got a Christmas bag with candy and crackers, fruit, a Christmas ornament, a folded flag ornament, and a Christmas card. The annual visit was once again organized by members of the Palmerton American Legion Post 269 and the United Veterans Organization of Palmerton.Ed Moyer, commander of the Palmerton American Legion Post 269, said the visit always results in a sense of pride and accomplishment."It was a good feeling to see the patients smile and thank Santa for his short visit," Moyer said. The legion, which meets the fourth Tuesday of each month, is always in search of new members.Anyone who would like to join can call (610) 826-7475, or (570) 325-9657.
