Frank Kuhn, owner of Mallard Market, presented a check of $1,736.45 to Carbon-Schuylkill Marine Corps League Detachment 626 to assist with the Toys for Tots program.
The funds were raised through an store incentive program with employees volunteering to sell Toys for Tots donor cards, with Brittany Redmond being the highest seller. She was rewarded with a $50 gift card for an electronics store. The second highest seller was Kaitlin Green.
"The employees really put an effort into the program," said Kuhn. "This fundraiser is near and dear to my heart. My father was a member of the Marine Corps in World War II. I go all out to help with this Toys for Tots campaign."
Kuhn said that when the Carbon-Schuylkill Marine Corps League helped him dedicate his flagpole, the relationship with the organization was cemented.
"I am proud of the work they do for the kids," said Kuhn.
Kuhn said Mallard Market also participates in the Lehighton Ford turkey giveaway and does a food drive for the Trinity Pantry.
"This is my first year working here," said Redmond. "I guess that shows that if you want to do something you have to keep trying."
The funds raised through the donor Toys For Tots card program at Mallard Market were matched by Kuhn up to $500.
Kuhn said that the spare change that accumulates throughout the year from customers is also donated to Toys for Tots program.
