Parking will be prohibited along North Railroad Street (SR309) in Tamaqua next week.

The parking restrictions are due to work that will be done to install new, overhead television cable.

A contractor for Service Electric Cable TV will be working in the area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning Monday, Dec. 19.

New cable lines will be installed on the east side of the street, from the Five Points Intersection (Broad Street) to the north end of the borough.

The project is expected to be completed by Dec. 23, weather permitting.

Parking along the east side of N. Railroad Street will be prohibited during the construction. The street will be posted in advance.

Any vehicles that are not moved will be ticketed, then towed at the owner's expense.

For further information, stop in at the Municipal Building, 320 E. Broad St., or call (570) 668-3444 or 668-0300.
