Two nights of music are featured on Labor Day weekend at the Mauch Chunk opera House
On Friday, the Philadelphia-based band US Rails takes the Opera House stage.
These A-list musicians and songwriters consisting of Ben Arnold, Joseph Parsons, Scott Bricklin, Matt Muir and Tom Gillam possess individual talents. They echo some of the classic folk, pop and rock unions of the 60's and 70's.
Opening will be the Shannon Marsyada Trio.
On Saturday, Sept. 3, folk rocker Jonathan Edwards and his Band perform.
For four decades Edwards has enjoyed a stellar career of uncompromising musical integrity. The man delivers songs of passion, songs of insight, songs of humor, all rendered in that pure and powerful tenor which has grown sweeter with age.
Backed by his band of many years, Jonathan Edwards will be joined by his longtime accompanist Stuart Schulman on bass, piano, fiddle, and vocals, Taylor Armerding, formerly of Northern Lights on mandolin and high-tenor vocals, and Charlie Rose switching between pedal steel guitar, bass guitar, and banjo.
The Mauch Chunk Opera House is located at 14 W. Broadway in JimThorpe, PA.
Doors for both shows open at 7:30 and both concerts begin at 8:30 p.m.
