Monroe crashes investigated

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating three crashes on roadways in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, recently.

• A three-vehicle, rear-end crash was reported at 11:26 a.m. July 30 at the intersection of Route 209 and Greenview Drive. Troopers said Chelsea M. McCormick, 20, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1995 Subaru Impreza northbound on 209 when the front end hit the rear of a 2008 Honda Odyssey driven by Fayeann M. Kishel, 39, of Saylorsburg, pushing it into the rear of a 2016 Jeep Limited driven by a juvenile male.McCormick was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. No one else was injured. The three vehicles were towed from the scene. West End Fire Company and fire police volunteers assisted at the scene.Troopers cited McCormick for following too closely.• A two-vehicle crash occurred at 9:43 a.m. Aug. 1 along Sugar Hollow Road. Troopers said Jesse J. Kilpatrick 69, of Stroudsburg, driving a 2004 GMC Envoy attempted to make a left turnand pulled into the path of a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Jose A. Ramirez, 32, of Blakeslee. No one was injured. Troopers cited Kilpatrick for the crash.• A four-vehicle crash was reported at 4:48 p.m. Aug. 6 along Route 209 near Weir Lake Road. Troopers said a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country operated by Megan A. Schmunk, 22, of New Orleans, rear-ended a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Wendy L. Riedel, 50, of Gilbert, which caused vehicles operated by Richard J. Pierson, 64, of Effort, 2002 Toyota Avalon, and Christian M. Carriers, 21, of Kunkletown, 2002 Subaru Legacy, to also be involved.A passenger with Pierson, Janet A. Pierson, 59, was taken to the PMC by West End ambulance. No other injuries were reported.Schmunk was cited for following too closely.
