A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Tuesday following an assault incident in which one of two victims was stabbed. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at the Oswald residence at 39 William St., Barnesville, Ryan Township about 4 p.m.

According to troopers Bryan James Oswald, 18, was involved in a physical argument with Michael James Stewart, 29, of Barnesville, at the address stated.

During the argument Oswald retrieved a 12-inch kitchen knife from the residence and attempted to go outside and stab Stewart and also damage the tires on his vehicle.

Troopers said William Charles Oswald III, 21, of that address, attempted to stop Bryan Oswald and was stabbed in the right hand. Stewart also sustained an injury to his left ankle during the incident.

William Oswald was transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, by Ryan Township ambulance for evaluation, troopers said.

Bryan Oswald was taken into custody and charged with aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

He was arraigned before duty District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison after failing to post $10,000 straight cash bail.
