Rose, who finishes with three hits, clubs a two-run homer in the first inning and adds a solo shot in the fifth. George Malaska strikes out seven batters to earn the pitching win. The Nesquers also receive two hits and a run scored from both Dave Jacobs and Paul Slivka. For Thorpe, Fred Breiswine blasts a three-run homer.
