A man inspecting a leak underneath his sanitation tanker truck in Walker Township was MedEvaced to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after accidentally being run over by a passing box truck just after 8 a.m. this morning.

Emergency responders were called to Brook Lane, just off Catawawissa Road in Lewistown Valley, after the driver of a truck, owned by Farm Building Sanitations Inc, Witmer, had his left leg accidentally run over by a passing box truck from Heisler's Egg Farm Inc., Tamaqua, which was passing his truck in the opposite direction.

Witnesses on scene stated that the man, who was working under his truck, accidentally stuck his leg out from under the truck as the Heisler's truck was passing.

Responding were Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Tamaqua's Citizen's Fire Company, and ambulances from Tamaqua and Lehighton. State Police are investigating.
