While large oversize truckloads are nothing new to Jim Thorpe and the area, a long oversized truck hauling a massive and heavy electrical transformer bound for Buffalo, N.Y., seemed a little out of place Thursday in that truckers usually do not hazard the hilly route out of the east side of the town heading "up" SR903 to the Poconos. This route proved somewhat troublesome for the crew of one such moving operation when, after experiencing problems navigating the Packerton Dip and the borough bridge in Jim Thorpe, the industrial caravan paused again on North Street near the edge of the town while it awaited a large heavy duty tow-truck to come to its aid with a helpful tow-assist up the long expanse of what is known locally as "Kattner's Hill". Once on the top of the hill the truck reportedly enjoyed clear sailing on its way to Buffalo.
