The word championship might have escaped the Northern Lehigh wrestling team this past season, but Todd Herzog's Bulldogs continued to produced some successful individuals.

The season was highlighted by Tamaqua's Garth Lakitsky's unbeaten season that ended with a gold medal performance in the PIAA Championship, The Bulldogs, however, managed to put five wrestlers on the 2010-2011 TIMES NEWS Area Wrestling All-Star First Team.Three senior Bulldogs Colin Hedash and Nikko Stevens and junior Zane Heller were all repeat selections, as were Lakitsky, his Blue Raider teammate Kolby Mashack and Panther Valley senior Nick O'Donnell.Besides Lakitsky's 40-plus win season, Pleasant Valley junior Michael Dahlstrom also topped the 40-win mark with a 42-7 record and a trip to states.Sophomore Ty Herzog and senior Lucas Dise rounded out the Northern Lehigh first-team contingent.Northwestern, Pleasant Valley and Tamaqua all had two selections, while Lehighton, Panther Valley and Palmerton all had one.Seven of the selections were seniors, with the other seven underclassmen.Senior Bobby Clymer and sophomore Michael Ortiz were the Northwestern wrestlers to garner first team honors. Joining Dahlstrom from Pleasant Valley was freshman Kenny Yanovich.Lehighton junior Anthony Farole and Palmerton freshman Josh Evans rounded out the first team.The team was selected without regard to weight class and wrestlers who had achievements in the post-season were given heavy consideration during the process.The wrestlers are listed by alphabetical order.FIRST TEAMBobby Clymer, Northwestern Lehigh.
