The Spring Pops was presented by the Pleasant Valley Choral Society this past weekend with the theme of Rockin at the Theater!, under the direction of Dorothy Mohr.
The society will soon be soliciting membership for the holiday concert set for 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, and at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11.

The Western Pocono Lions Club will welcome PDG Judy Dudley at the club's meeting on Wednesday, April 20, at Ye Ole Saylors Inn.
Gathering time is at 6:30 and the meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Easter egg hunt
The West End Park & Open Space Commission will host an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at the Haney/VanBuskirk Park in Saylorsburg.

McMichaels UMC has announced the following services for the upcoming holiday. On Maundy Thursday, April 21, a worship service at McMichaels will be held at 7 p.m. with Holy Communion celebrated around common tables in the Fellowship Hall.
The Easter service on Sunday, April 24, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
This Brodheadsville church will hold Maundy Thursday, April 21, service at 7:30 p.m. It will include Holy Communion and the stripping of the altar.
On Good Friday the worship service will be held at 7:30 p.m. also.
Easter Sunday services are set for 6, 8 and 10:30 a.m. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be offered.
Holy Week services at Effort UMC include a worship service on Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m. A soup supper will precede the service at 6 p.m. in Wesley Hall. Participants are asked to bring bread to share.
The Good Friday Service will also be at 7 p.m.
There will be no service on Saturday, April 23.
On Easter Sunday there will be a 7 a.m. Sunrise service as well as worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
The church office and day care will be closed Good Friday.
Mt. Eaton Church
This Saylorsburg church is offering a 5-7 p.m., drop-in Communion service on Good Friday, April 22.
On Saturday, April 23, an Easter music and drama presentation entitled "O great Redeemer" will be presented beginning at 6:30 p.m.
On Easter Sunday, the church will hold an Easter Sunrise service at 6 a.m., a traditional worship service at 8 a.m., Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and a repeat presentation of "O Great Redeemer" at 10:30 a.m.
Queen of Peace
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Route 209, will hold a Mass of the Lord's Supper from 7-8 p.m., Holy Thursday, April 21
On Good Friday, April 22, there will be a 7 p.m. Mass of the Lord's Passion.
On Saturday, at 1:30 p.m., Easter baskets will be blessed and at 2 p.m. an Easter egg hunt will be held.
On all three days, at 8 a.m., morning prayers will be celebrated.
Easter Sunday Masses are set for 8 and 10 a.m. and noon.
Operation: Touch of Home will have volunteers bagging at Kinsley's ShopRite in Brodheadsville Friday, April 22.
Illiano to speak
The West End Republican Club will meet at 6 p.m. for dinner on Tuesday, April 26, at the Old Mill Pizzeria in Sciota, with the formal meeting to follow at 7 p.m.
Art Illiano, Effort, a longtime member of the WERC and an active participant of the Tea Party movement, will speak on the Tea Party Fact and Fiction.

The Western Pocono Lioness Club will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, at the American Legion Post Home. An individual from West End Mission will be the featured speaker.
On Thursday, April 14, Pride in Chestnuthill (PIC) met to discuss plans for spring cleanups, beautification and handing out brochures about the recycling center on Hillcrest Road. The group had its first roadside litter cleanups in April and hauled away over a ton of litter. More litter cleanups are set April 30, May 14 and May 28, weather permitting.

June and Ray Butler of McMichaels added a 14th grandchild last week. The granddaughter, named Brooke Dorothy Davis, is the first child of June's son Mark and his wife Mari Davis.
