The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling on the Turnpike's Northeastern Extensionto be prepared for daytime single-lane patterns and two-way traffic in the Lehigh Tunnel, Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 18-19). The southbound tube will be closed for maintenance work each day between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The work is weather permitting and subject to change. Rain date will be Wednesday (Apr. 20).I-476 motorists should stay alert when approaching the area and entering the tunnel. Motorists are urged to turn on headlights, slow down and keep an adequate distance from the vehicle you are following; remain in your lane and do not pass when traveling through the single-lane pattern in the tunnel.The following week, April 25-27, maintenance operations will be conducted in the northbound tunnel.Travel advisories will be posted at
