Look Good, Feel Better
The American Cancer Society will host a Look Good, Feel Better makeover workshop from 4-6 p.m., April 18, at the Simon Kramer Institute, 15 Alliance St., New Philadelphia.
The session is free and open to all local female cancer patients actively undergoing cancer treatment.
During the session, trained cosmetologists will meet with patients to discuss ways of using makeup and accessories to minimize appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Look Good, Feel Better is offered in a group setting, providing participants with cancer education, information and support.
Each woman will learn to apply makeup, using kits provided through the American Cancer Society's partnership with the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association and the National Cosmetology Association.
Seating is limited, so registration is required. To register, call 1-800-227-2345.

DARE graduation will be held today, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the Tamaqua Middle School Auditorium.
This year's guest speaker will be James Warren, whose topic will be "Magic With a Message."
The public is welcome to attend.
St. John's Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service this Palm Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will include Holy Communion. First Holy Communion and Sunday school classes meet at 10:30 a.m.
Activities for next week include: Wednesday, midweek Lenten service at 7:30 p.m., at Zion's Lutheran Church; Maundy Thursday, First Holy Communion will be celebrated during the 7:30.m. service; Good Friday, Tenebrae service at 7:30 p.m. at Zion's.
The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service Palm Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. The service will include an Easter Cantata. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Zion's Youth Group will meet April 15, at 7 p.m., in the social hall. Fitness for Friends, a community exercise class, will meet Monday, 6-7 p.m., in the social hall. A Men's Drama is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 22.
The Rush Township Bicentennial committee sponsored an American Red Cross blood drive on April 5. The event was held in the Rush Township Municipal Building and collected 22 units of the "gift of life."
While the target goal was 24 units, organizers declared the event a success and hope to make the bloodmobile an annual event.
The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at the Palm Sunday 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.
Also Sunday, the Sunday school youth will present the annual Easter program, featuring a shadow play and special music, at 6:30 p.m.
