Four Coaldale residents charged with drug offenses remain in Schuylkill County Prison today.

Michele Romig, 37; James Levan, 20; Tyler Strawdinger, 18; and Patrick Shoemaker, 21; all of 101 E. High St., were charged Tuesday by Coaldale police with possession of liquified ammonia gas and other dangerous chemicals, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamines and related charges.They were arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier of Orwigsburg and jailed - Romig and Levan under $20,000 straight cash bail and Strawdinger and Shoemaker under $15,000 straight cash bail.The arrests happened after county probation and parole officers arrived at the house to check on Romig, who was in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition program for welfare fraud.Inside the house, officers found a portable methamphetamine lab. Also known as a meth kit, the black book bag contained funnels, tubing, drain cleaner and other volatile chemicals used to make methamphetamine; drug paraphernalia and heroin.Romig and Levan had come to the attention of borough police the day before, when Officer Jeremy Talanca, responding to a complaint of loud music coming from a vehicle, found them drunk inside a vehicle at the house, with Romig in the driver's seat.Coaldale Police Chief Tim Delaney, officers Charles Blesse, Todd Weiss, Scott Cramer, Talanca, Sgt. Keith Krapf and the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force teamed up for the bust.
