Precious metals dealer opens Palmerton business

Coin collectors and jewelry buffs are in luck.

A licensed precious metals dealer, J & J Coins held their grand opening on Thursday.The family owned business is located at 631 Delaware Avenue in Palmerton.Owned by Joseph Schock, the business collects silver, platinum, jewelry, coins, currency, post cards, and military items.Schock, who resides in Walnutport, said the business has been a lifelong dream of his."I have been coin collecting since I was six years old," Schock said. "I always wanted to get my own business, and my life goal was to always open a coin shop."Schock, who is joined by his daughter, Jen Graver, said the business offers coin collecting supplies, as well as starter sets for the young collector."We cater to beginners and advanced collectors," he said. "My goal is to keep the hobby alive, and to build my clientele by earning their trust one customer at a time."J & J Coins is open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
