Two tractor trailer operators escaped serious injury Sunday night when involved in a crash along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County. The crash occurred just after 10 p.m. as one of the drivers attempted to make an illegal turn on the emergency cross over. According to reports from the scene the driver was traveling eastbound and wanted to exit at the Pocono exit. After he realized he had passed his exit he attempted to make a wide swing onto the emergency cross over about a half mile east of the exit. In doing so he was struck broadside by another rig also traveling east. The left lane was closed for several hours as crews worked to remove the wreckage. The Albrightsville Fire Company responded to the scene. The operators were evaluated at the scene by medical personnel. State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the incident.
