Emergency crews were called to the top of the Mile Hill Road (SR309) near the Interstate 81 off ramp to SR-309 around 11 p.m. Sunday after a white Pontiac slammed into a ramp barrier. The car continued traveling and scraping the barrier at distant points, and eventually came to rest in the grass adjacent to SR309 north near a PennDOT building. The car, containing one driver and passenger, also lost a tire and had to be towed from the scene. A driver and witness to the accident stated the driver just missed his vehicle by inches and seemed to pass him at high speeds before losing control and eventually causing sparks as the car scraped the off ramp barrier for a long distance. Frackville state police, McAdoo police, McAdoo Fire Department and fire police responded. There were no serious injuries.
