Dr. Margaret Brisco, author of "Women In Transition" and "Metamorphoses," will pay a visit to the Western Pocono Community Library, on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. for a chat and book signing. She will read excerpts from them. Her books will be available for sale and she will sign them personally for you.
"Women in Transition" is a collection of short stories exploring the more profound moments in women's lives and offer men and women the opportunity to explore the deeper connection of being human.
"Metamorphoses" is a collection of short stories where the characters change or are changed by the people or circumstances they encounter.
Born in Trieste, Italy, Dr. Margaret Brisco graduated from Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia in Padova, Italy. She practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in northern New Jersey for 35 years and was a pioneer at a time when few women became physicians and even fewer undertook specialties involving surgery. Since her retirement from medicine in 1996, she has devoted herself to writing, and is the founding member of The Write Group of Montclair. Dr. Brisco is currently writing her memoir.
