Surprise, politicians show some concern

Dear Editor:

I read the TIMES NEWS on Friday, Sept. 3 in regard to the sludge concerns in Tuscarora and Mary D. To my surprise, our local politicians, Argall and Knowles, are concerned.Where have they been?Let's all remember the involvement they had in the dumping projects in the past. They told you what you wanted to hear but never took a real stand against the dumping or accomplished anything. Now that it is election year, here they go again telling you what you want to hear.I must give them credit. They did learn something in the years that they have been in the political arena and that is sitting on top of the fence saying anything to get and keep votes. However, I would like to remind the people of a great President Abraham Lincoln who said, "You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you cannot fool all the people all of the time."I would hope that the people remember this on election day in November. In conclusion, I have one thought on my mind, how concerned will these politicians be on this situation after election day?Personally, I don't believe that they will have any concerns after the election.John H SchickramTamaqua
