Carbon County Sheriff Dwight L. Nothstein and the sheriff's deputies are urging area residents to fly an American flag this weekend in honor of Patriot Day.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, officials are asking that Americans display an American flag outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the county in honor of those who lost their lives in one of the country's worst tragedies.

Do this to remember those who lost their lives; their families, friends and loved ones who are still in pain from their losses; and to honor the brave men and women who, today, are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
