Lehighton Area High School will be hosting its first annual "Back to School Night" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, in the school auditorium.

Timothy M. Tkach, principal, said, "We are hosting this night to better inform our parents, guardians, and community of what we have to offer our students at the high school. We are trying to open the lines of communication and bridge the gap between school, parents, and students."

There will be a brief presentation via Tribal Vision, focusing on academics, standardized testing, rules and regulations of LAHS, and career cruising.

In addition, several agencies will be on hand to provide parents with information and resources to help them and their child. Among them are the State Attorney General's office, Tri-County Drug & Alchohol, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Carbon County MH/MR, as well as the school's guidance department, athletic department, and department heads.

Student Council representatives will offer brief tours of the building.
