Burn, baby, burn.

Welcome to the 22nd annual Antique/Collector Car Show, where vintage cars are certain to rule the roost.

Sponsored by the Slatington Lions Club, Inc., the event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Slatington Airport along State Route 873. The rain date is Monday.

A flea market vendor setup will be held from 5:30-9 a.m., followed by the registration of cars from 9 a.m. to noon and the awards presentation at 3 p.m. There will be food, refreshments, and entertainment all day.

There will be over 100 prizes up for grabs, as well as three awards per class, according to Ted Kistler, event chairman.

Kistler said there will also be nine special awards given out: Lions President Award; Masonic Award; Mayor's Award; Bup Kibler Memorial Award; People's Choice Award; Oldest Car in Show Award; Oldest Show Participant Award; Furthest Driven Show; Vehicle Award; and Most Drastically Altered Award.

Kistler said it's imperative that the weather cooperates in order for the show to run smoothly.

"We're hoping for great weather; when you have great weather, you have a great show, so that controls everything," Kistler said. "We're just looking for a great day, and to have fun."

Kistler, who said last year's car show attracted 505 cars, added that some lucky person will win a 66 Mustang.
