Looking for the perfect holiday gift for friends who love to visit Jim Thorpe or have moved away? According to Bill Allison, calendar committee chair of the Jim Thorpe Rotary Club, it recently arrived-as the Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe 2011 Calendar.

Rotary's stocking stuffer, now in its second year of publication, is a venue to display images of the Victorian town and its homage to its Olympian namesake by several local photographers."The Jim Thorpe Rotary Calendar is published for three purposes," said committee chair Bill Allison, "as a way to make available souvenir images of the town from local photographers, to fundraise in support of Rotary's scholarship and Christmas present project program, and as a way of creating a quality piece of memorabilia that visitors can take home."The calendar contains 13 photographs-one for each month plus a cover scene-for 2011, it depicts the tower of St. Mark's Church.Inside, photographs show: the Packer Mansions, the Jim Thorpe Train Station, Race Street, Broadway, East Jim Thorpe, the Mauch Chunk Opera House, and the Jim Thorpe Mausoleum.The Jim Thorpe Rotary Club printed 2,000 copies. Calendars are available at the Dimmick Library and many shops in the Historic District of Jim Thorpe.Rotary is a worldwide service organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders.
