Hit and run crash probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a hit and run crash over the past weekend. It was one of three crashes probed by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways.

The hit and run was reported at 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24, along S. Hand St., near the intersection with E. Grand Ave. (SR209), in Tower City. Troopers said a vehicle was traveling northbound when it struck a parked 2008 Chevrolet HHR. After impact the driver continued north to the intersection and then fled the scene. The Chevrolet is owned by Kenneth M. Presler, 32, of Tower City. The hit and run vehicle is belieived to be a van or sports utility vehicle, troopers said.Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash about 3:58 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, along Main St. (SR25), in Hegins Township. Troopers said Adam E. Miller, 19, of Valley View, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound and looked away from the road for a moment. The car went onto the berm and struck a utility pole head-on.Miller was not injured. Miller was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic, troopers said.The third crash occurred about 4:33 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, in the parking lot of King's Plaza in Norwegian Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Pottsville was driving a 2011 Jeep through the lot, turned his head for unknown reasons, and the vehicle struck a concrete light pole.The teen was not njured but he was cited for careless driving.
