The line-up has been announced for the 44th Annual Tamaqua Halloween Parade, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26 beginning at 7 p.m.
The rain date is Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
The parade is sponsored by the Tamaqua Lions Club with assistance from the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. The Tamaqua Wireless Association provides communication along the parade route.
This year's grand marshals are Glenn E. Miller and sons Todd and Trevor. The Millers are the owners of M&S True Value Hardware, Tamaqua. Through TKT Partners, the family also owns several other properties in Tamaqua's downtown, including the Flat Iron Building at the Five Points intersection of Routes 209 and 309.
Also riding in the parade with be Emerson Musser, the Tamaqua Are Chamber's 2010 Citizenship Award winner, and Randy Gormley, the 2009 award winner.
As in past years, the parade will assemble at the east end of the borough by 6:45 p.m. and commence westward on Broad Street.
The parade is open to Tamaqua residents and those residing outside the borough.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the top entries as determined by a panel of judges. There is a $150 prize for Best of Show. Prizes will also be presented in two categories: marching units and floats/motorized.
The first place prize for each category is $100, with $75 for second place and $50 for third place.
All participants will be called in advance of the parade with their position and set-up location. A number is given to each participant or group, as listed below.
