The Borough of Palmerton will begin leaf collection on Monday, Oct. 25.

The leaf pickup and collection schedule is effective Oct. 25 through Nov. 24.

Borough Council has adopted the following leaf disposal plan for 2010. Leaf pickup will be as follows:

Mondays - Residence Park and areas north of Columbia Avenue and east of Third Street.

Tuesdays - North side of Lehigh Avenue and north side of Franklin Avenue.

Wednesdays - South side of Lafayette and Columbia avenues; south side of 100 and 200 blocks of Princeton Avenue; south side of 100 and 200 blocks of Edgemont Avenue; south side of 100 and 200 blocks of Harvard Avenue.

Thursdays - North side of Lafayette and Columbia avenues; north side of 100 and 200 blocks of Princeton Avenue; north side of 100 and 200 blocks of Edgemont Avenue; north side of 100 and 200 blocks of Harvard Avenue.

Fridays - Avenue A; Avenue B; Delaware Avenue; south side of Lehigh and Franklin avenues.

Residents should remember not to rake the leaves into the street. They should be placed along the curb, so that they do not scatter before they are picked up. Alleys will be picked up with the same street schedule. It is not necessary to bag leaves, but please have your car removed so that leaves are accessible for the pick up machine.
