One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. on Route 209 in Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Megon E. Dorward, 34, of Andreas, sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

The accident happened when a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by Kenneth W. Williams, 69, of Hazleton, was traveling north on Rt. 209 and crossed the double yellow lines in the area of Shepard Place, striking the rear driver's side wheel of a 1992 Jeep Wrangler operated by Dorward, causing the Jeep to leave the roadway.

Police said Williams continued north on Rt. 209 and turned around a few miles down the road from where the accident occurred. he was stopped on Hazelwood Road and then transported to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, due to a medical condition.

Police said Williams will be cited as a result of causing the accident.
