Monroe break-ins

State police at Lehighton are investigating two burglaries that occurred in Monroe County.

Troopers said the residence of Johan Stanley Walters, 66, of 1256 Herbst Ave., Saylorsburg, Ross Township, was entered sometime between 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.Taken was numerous jewelry items valued at about $8,500.The second entry occurred at the residence of Allen M. Dangler, 295 Breadfruit Drive, Treichlers, located at 1 Pine St., Polk Township. Entry occurred sometime between 6:30 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 21. Removed from the home was copper piping. A live pipe was also broken causing the basement to be flooded. Entry was gained through a basement window.Arifa Artamonov, 36, of 6308 Overlook Drive, Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported someone kicked over light posts in her driveway. The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7 a.m. Aug. 14.
