A Luzerne County woman was found dead along a dirt road outside Freeland, and the death has been ruled a homicide.

State police at Hazleton said the body of Alicia Weaver, 20, of 830 James St., Hazleton, was found about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, along a dirt road off Highland Road, in Foster Township. An autopsy was performed by Dr. Mary F. Pascucci at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She ruled the death a homicide.

Troopers said Weaver was last seen along Wyoming St., in Hazleton, on Saturday afternoon. Troopers reportedly checked a house near Cedar and Hemlock streets, in Hazleton, after the area where the body was found was secured.
