The Thanksgiving Ecumenical service sponsored by the Jim Thorpe Ministerium, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Street. Delivering the sermon will be the Rev. James Ward, of the Immaculate Conception Church. A time of fellowship will follow the worship service.
The free community supper sponsored by St. Mark's Episcopal Church, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 4-6 p.m. The meal this month will be turkey with all the trimmings.
The committee planning this year's live nativity is in need of clear, gallon jugs, to be used as luminaries for the event. If you have any questions about this contact Jean Dunbar, (570) 325-4303. The nativity will be held on Dec. 3 and 4 at the Sam Miller Field. This will be the ninth year for the event.
