The LIFE Worship Committee of Lehighton has announced the Baccalaureate service for the Lehighton Area High School Class of 2010 will be held at Zion United Church of Christ, Second and Iron streets, Lehighton, on Tuesday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m.

Baccalaureate is defined as a farewell address in the form of a sermon delivered to a graduating class.

The entire liturgical content for the service, including prayers, scripture readings and faith stories, has been created by members of the graduation class. The Rev. John Inghram, pastor of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, will present a brief "Pastor's Moment."

The Lehighton Area High School Concert Choir, under the direction of David Perkins, will perform two selections during the service. In addition, several members of the graduation class will share their musical talents with their classmates, who number 174 young men and women.

Area clergy, as well as the public, are invited to attend this service. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
